I've been a bit out of the loop due an attempt at going back to college at the ripe old age of 41. It's January 23rd and I haven't even sent out my Christmas packages to family yet. Ugh. Hopefully, my procrastination and lack of communication with the outside world for over a year now will allow other moms to feel better about themselves when they feel guilty for not fulfilling the 'be-all-do-all' of 'mommy-dom'.
So, this is the point in my post where I solicit my most desired and beloved advice... That we must sometimes be allowed to slightly lower our self-inflicted standards of always being the most picturesque of mothers in order to make time for the things that remind us we are still individuals with goals and interests of our own. Why? Because we love being mothers, yet we are so much more than simple mother-bots.
Which brings me to the picture above, in which my little girl is so accurately modeling the results of her mother's new-millennium-guilt-free-lack-of-attentiveness hairdo; not to mention the fact that she's been playing iPhone games for almost an hour before eating breakfast, brushing her teeth... and most likely before she's even gone pee this morning (remember, I wasn't paying attention cuz I'm new-millennium busy).
However, there is one thing that I made sure I took care of. I took an awesome picture for my blog;)
